Like the break in the song when improvisation and creativity takes over

Like the challenging of seemingly fixed relations and patterns

Boxing is like jazz

It is knowledge and movement in all directions

Dissonant and yet resonant

It is grace and skill under intense pressure of held breath and notes yearning to be released

Boxing is like jazz

It is the picking and choosing of the identity you will own in that moment

It is a movement that is too visceral for words

Giving us confidence to cope with any situation

Boxing is like jazz.
