Proudfoot Out, Washburn in as South Precinct Commander

The Seattle Times is reporting that four assistant chiefs in the Seattle Police Department have been demoted to captain and reassigned new jobs, including current South Precinct Chief David Proudfoot.

The moves were listed in a department email sent Monday evening by Police Chief Kathleen O’Toole.

Mike Washburn, previously an assistant chief of field operations, will become South Precinct commander, with Proudfoot moving to the training unit. You can read the entire Times report here.

The Emerald will be following up with an in-depth report.

  1. What a loss for the community! Captain Proudfoot was the most dedicated Captain the South Precinct has had! So much for the word of the new Chief!

  2. thank goodness Proudfoot is out, very incompetent as a Chief, abuses the privelege he had, He doesn’t care for the people and wasn’t respected from what i hear. Change is a comin.
