Rainier Valley Radio is seeking radio programming ideas/proposals from all interested Southeast Seattle residents and organizations in preparation for broadcasting this summer or fall. Proposals can be in the initial idea stage or include specific details. Technical expertise is not a requirement as training will be provided for you to broadcast your program. Not everyone wants to be on the air, so you do not necessarily need to produce your program ideas.
History of Rainier Valley Radio
In response to community requests, SouthEast Effective Development (SEED) applied for a low power FM Radio license in October 2013 and received our license in September of 2014. The license for Rainier Valley Radio states that we must be on the air by March 2016. Rainier Valley Radio will be a program of SEEDArts and operated in collaboration with a Community Leadership Council. The Leadership Council will adopt operating guidelines and be responsible for operations, programming and finances.
Mission
Rainier Valley Radio is a culturally diverse, listener-supported radio station and media center that informs, educates and entertains through locally created and community-supported content.
