On Thursday, May 14th two local non-profits, the Rainier Beach Empowerment Coalition and Rainier Beach Moving Forward, will host the Rainier Beach 2015 Town Hall.

Organizers say the event’s intent is to orchestrate a community driven conversation around safety, displacement, job creation, and youth success.

The gathering will also feature an awards ceremony recognizing “unsung” heroes of the community, a spotlight on Rainier Beach High School’s International Baccalaureate program, and the official launch of the Rainier Beach “A Beautiful Safe Place for Youth”  initiative which seeks to address public safety concerns via solutions vetted by local community members.

Rainier Beach Town Hall 2015 will be held at the Ethiopian Community Center located at 8323 Rainier Avenue South from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
