Community: Hydration Station and Bike Helmet Giveaway– Details: The Rainier Beach Merchants Association invites local families to a giveaway of 100 kids’ bike helmets, and to trick out their bikes and helmets with creative decorating options as well as other family and cycling activities during the event. Civics: Candidates Forum Brought to you by the Coalition of Immigrants, Refugees and Communities of Color– Details: The Coalition of Immigrant, Refugees and Communities of Color (CIRCC) is working to ensure there are opportunities for input and dialogue between the communities and the candidates. Community: Lakewood Seward Park Community Garage Sale– Details: Interested in shopping? Currently 25 homes are signed up. Find out where they will be here.Interested in having a sale? Just email your address to: lspccmanager@gmail.com and they will publish and distribute a map to all of the sales (sale time from 9-2 unless you designate otherwise). They will promote in the community. You will put up signage at and near your home. Don’t have enough stuff to bother with a sale but want to raise some money for your own cause and join in the community building? Consider hosting a refreshment or snack station and they will put you on the map.
Community: Life Skills to Work: Career Readiness Training Program– Details: The Life-Skills-to-Work (LSW) process provides students with the Learn-to-Learn & Cognitive Behavior skill-sets needed for successful transition from prison & jail back to the community. Music: Urban Mix 101 presented by Itech 4 Life Solutions– Details: An intro to the fundamentals of Digital Audio Recording and Music production. Students will be familiarized with the Protools(DigiDesign) work environment as well as the Reasons workspace. Students will also be introduced to an analog mixing console and learn how the digital and analog systems correlate in a typical recording environment.
