Community: Parking Lot SaleDetails: Lakeridge Lutheran Church is hosting a Parking Lot Sale, whose proceeds will benefit Run of Hope  Seattle, a charity supporting pediatric brain tumor research at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Music: Urban Mix 101 presented by Itech 4 Life SolutionsDetails: An intro to the fundamentals of Digital Audio Recording and Music production. Students will be familiarized with the Protools(DigiDesign) work environment as well as the Reasons workspace. Students will also be introduced to an analog mixing console and learn how the digital and analog systems correlate in a typical recording environment. Music:  Seattle 4 Culture Presents: Seattle Meets Tokyo: Modern Jazz ConnectionsDetails: Seattle Meets Tokyo: Modern Jazz Connections is a collaborative improvisation project between Seattle and Tokyo musicians. Featuring Seattle native Kevin McHugh on piano and special guest Akihiko Ando (Tokyo) on alto sax and effects, they are joined by Naomi Siegel (trombone), Geoff Harper (bass) and Evan Woodle (drums). Through original compositions, our group will explore the boundaries between free jazz, Japanese noise and written/improvised forms. This project was supported, in part, by an award from 4Culture.   1. HEY! Your story about the Skyway mural painting is completely wrong! Where did you get this information? We don’t have the permit yet, and don’t know when we can start work. Please retract that article immediately.     1. Michelle, I added the mural painting work dates to the community calendar at http://www.mywesthill.org/calendar. I believe that’s where this information was taken from. I got those dates directly from the Skyway Solutions calendar at http://www.buildskywaywesthill.org/events over a month ago. That calendar still shows the mural painting taking place the first four Saturdays in August. I’ve removed the event from the West Hill Community Association calendar, and the post has been updated above. I’d suggest you contact Skyway Solutions and make sure they also edit their calendar, which seems to be the source of all the confusion. Thanks for the update.
