Meeting to Discuss Recent Gun Violence

The Public Safety Alliance will be hosting a citywide meeting on neighborhood public safety concerns at 7:00pm on Wednesday, April 20 at the Seattle’s Children’s Theatre, located at 201 Thomas St.

Damon Benefield, a resident of Rainier Beach, will talk about recent gun violence in South Seattle including a drive-by shooting that took place last night in the New Holly neighborhood. Seattle Police Chief Kathleen O’Toole will also be in attendance to answer citizen questions.  South Seattle community members are being strongly encouraged to attend the meeting to voice their concerns.

Snoop Dogg to Visit Skyway

Multi-platinum recording artist and 17-time Grammy nominee Snoop Dogg, real name Calvin Broadus, Jr, will be visiting Skyway later this evening  to support the Have a Heart Skyway recreational marijuana shop.  Snoop will be meeting and greeting fans from 7:00- 8:00pm at the shop’s location at 12833 Martin Luther King Jr Way S.

It is unlikely the Chief will be able to take questions do a very packed agenda that addresses both safety and security for our homeless citizens, so that they we can find a better solution than The Jungle as well as gun violence in the Rainier Valley; however, we strongly encourage attendance. The Neighborhood Safety Alliance intends to address gun violence that is of such high concern in the South Precinct exclusively at a forum in the future.
