Community: Walk Away DayDetailsWalk Away Day is a three part event that starts with a rally, proceeds with a walk and concludes as a festival. At Walk Away Day youth from all over the city are coming together to make a decision to let go of something negative in their life. We believe that positive choices should be recognized. Because of this, once a completed registration is submitted, the youth will receive a raffle ticket. This ticket will give the youth a chance to win some incredible prizes! At the Walk Away Day festival, Genesee Park will be transformed in to a village full of opportunities that give the youth creative alternatives. Although brought up in the straight-ahead jazz tradition, Isak also draws influence from rock, electronic, hip-hop, R&B, and other styles. Music: Earshot Jazz: Endangered BloodDetails: The four members of Endangered Blood are some of the most influential jazz musicians of their generation. Jim Black should need no introduction to listeners of creative music, having established himself as one of the most inventive drummers of his generation, and is currently leading his own trio as well as post-rock/jazz group Alas No Axis. Bassist Trevor Dunn has been touring the world with various Mike Patton and John Zorn projects as well as entering the Guinness Book of World Records by playing fifty gigs in fifty states in fifty days as a member of the Melvins Lite. Oscar Noriega is fast becoming one of the rising stars of creative music as a member of Tim Berne’s acclaimed Snakeoil quartet.
