Dozens of Columbia City residents braved the rain on Sunday afternoon with signs of solidarity with communities suffering from a stark increase in hate crimes since the inauguration of the current president.
Residents stationed themselves on street corners along Rainier Avenue waving cardboard signs expressing solidarity with immigrant and Jewish communities, along with the Black Lives Matter movement.
Their goal was to send the message that love can indeed trump hate in South Seattle.
