She escaped,
but not unscathed;
From a life so severe & cold
But now
Her beautiful smile
Hides many painful stories untold.
Notice the cracks in her wings,
Yet theres no stalling in her flight.
The unhealed bruises on her feet,
Attest to the harshness of past plights.
Though having been pulled
& weighed down, she somehow
Floats gracefully through the sky,
Holding in her spirit
The mystery
Of the strong black butterfly.
Beautiful
Amazing my man
