Sunday Stew: Hunger

by Samira Abbas

Wake up thinking of the day and
How I’ll survive, thought what will
We eat today
This hunger stings like a beehive
Days, weeks, months go by
Living off this so called food

Just filled with unnecessary fat
Which slowly deceases your inside
Year’s passed you’ve gained numerous
Body failures and are linked to
Their feeding off
Your money
This feeling of despair
Deeper than the shot of a rifle
Man this ain’t really fair
Tho this is the poverty cycle
