South End Stew: Leveraging the Struggle

by Gabriella Duncan

restraining the battle

there is a victory

inside the silence

of the wait time

as you exercise

resilience from desire

to commit violence

Even when it is

against yourself

mental fortitude is

no longer valued

if you cloud your

vision by conceding

to the insanity of

egoic nature

the point of

absurdity

peace is built

upon open palms

closed fists are

useless if one

take’s the battle

on too soon

fighting a battle

With nothing

but two

bloody stubs.
