Details: “Visual and kinetic artist Bobbin started Breakin in the Northwest HIP HOP scene in 1997 […] Through cyphers, Breakin embodies a communal language for diverse individuals to share complex experiences and witness each person’s perspective. Recently, Bobbin began translating this subconscious internal dialog into a visual medium. Using canvases and large pieces of reclaimed wood, Bobbin creates acrylic and sumi ink abstractions. Details: “Franklin High School’s Art of Resistance & Resilience art club presents: A community forum for the club’s future mural commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Seattle Black Panther Party […] Recognizing that the responsibility of representing the SCBPP history with accuracy and integrity is essential, the art club will host a community forum, providing community members who are invested in this history an opportunity to share ideas about the narrative they would like to see depicted in the mural. […] [Event] will feature a presentation of SCBPP history by guest speaker Elmer Dixon, co-founder of SCBPP, and will be followed by a moderated community dialogue lead by Franklin alumni and former Seattle Black Panther Garry Owens.
