Number 7 Bus Route Set to Become RapidRide Rainier

King County Metro plans to transition the current number 7 bus route into RapidRide Rainier as early as 2021. SDOT and Metro are seeking community input on potential changes to the route at four different public meetings. The earliest will be held at King Donut (9232 Rainier Ave S) in Rainier Beach from 3 to 5pm on Wednesday, March 28th.

Additional opportunities for community feedback will take place at the following locations:

Jude’s Old Town Will Now be Open Mondays

The popular eatery, located at 9252 57th Ave S, will now be open on Mondays from 4-11pm with happy hour all evening. Jude’s also hosts public readings, music, and micro-brews. The spot, within sight of Lake Washington in Rainier Beach features booths and a bar that gives the place a neighborhood hang-out feel. Jude’s opened in 2015 and added a wooden ‘streatery’ dining area complete with flower beds last year.

Day of Service for Rainier Beach High School This Weekend

Rainier Beach High students are inviting community members to participate in a Day of Service at the school to be held on March 31st, between 9:00am and 4pm. Volunteers will help with painting, mulching, and weeding the school’s front entry, and courtyard. They will also help paint the school gymnasium.
