“Full color posters of the mural will be for sale. All proceeds of poster sales will go to Art of & Resistance & Resilience, Franklin High School’s social and environmental justice based art club, to ensure they have the resources to continue to create powerful community based art. Unapologetic Artist Creatives photographic prints will also be available for purchase.

Much Ado About Nothing: All Femxle Cast
“All’s fair in love and war in Shakespeare’s merry play, ‘Much Ado About Nothing.’ Everyone can see that Benedick and Beatrice are meant for each other—except for Benedick and Beatrice themselves. Weaving wit, romance, comedy, and even an evil plot, Much Ado About Nothing is a whirlwind race to the finish line of happily ever after. Help us raise money to donate to organizations that are on the front lines of the battle by smashing the patriarchy- literally! We will start the evening with a brief tutorial on how to break a board safely. After that you can purchase a board with your choice of stencil on it, such as, Drumph, #45 and others. Or if you prefer you can create your own patriarchy to smash!

“The honorable Bobby Seale, after speaking at the Youth Empowerment Summit, will speak again at a community event on the theme of ‘Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow’; where have we been and done, what are we doing now, and where are we going.
“Bobby Seale is a political activist and co-founder and national chairman of the Black Panther Party.
“Born in Texas in 1936, Bobby Seale is one of a generation of young Black radicals who preached a doctrine of militant black empowerment, helping found the Black Panther Party in 1966. In the 1970s, as the Black Panthers faded from public view, Seale continued working towards improving social services in black neighborhoods and other causes.
“Suggested donation for the event at Washington Hall is $5+. Sponsored by 206 Zulu.

“Del Rey—She started playing guitar when she was but a young lass of 4 years old and at 13 she and a friend stumbled into a record shop concert where some 20 people were sitting on the floor under the record bins listening to a kid named Tom Waits play his original songs. The proprietor Lou Curtiss of said shop (Folk Arts Rare Records in San Diego) suggested she quit wasting her time playing “Stairway to Heaven” and listen to some Memphis Minnie. He continued to influence her by introducing her to recordings that still influence everything she does on stringed instruments today. She soaked up country blues, stride piano, classic jazz and hillbilly boogie … ”

Opening Reception | Attention Span: New Works by Warren Dykeman
“Attention Span: New Work by Warren Dykeman opens to the public on Thursday, November 8th, 2018 at studio e. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, November 10th from 6-9 PM during the Georgetown Art Attack. There will be artist talk with Dykeman and independent writer and curator Melissa E. Feldman on Saturday, December 1st at 4 PM. The exhibition will continue through Saturday, December 22nd.
“Warren Dykeman continues to ‘hunt for the right kind of wrong’ as he merges folk art, Neo-primitive, graphic art, and typography in his latest mixed-media collaged paintings. In Attention Span, his second solo exhibition with studio e, and following his recent show at Volta NY, Dykeman has found an original way to bring digital designing tools into his artwork, and juxtapose those with the physical and abusive handling of his pieces. The resulting works showcase the artist’s signature iconography including exquisite weeds, ‘big dumb boots,’ potted shrubbery, flaming wigs, floating scaffolding, and mysterious silhouetted figures achieved by digital manipulation of a hand-drawn form and shape, further reworked by traditional painting and drawing techniques.
