ARRAY Film: The Body Remembers When the World Broke Open

“Two Indigenous women (Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers and, introducing, Violet Nelson) from vastly different backgrounds find their worlds colliding as one of them, Rosie, is fleeing a violent domestic attack. What begins as an urgent and terrifying escape tentatively expands as the women weave a fragile bond in their short time together while navigating the complexities of motherhood and the ongoing legacy of colonialism. “We welcome Eva Walker back to Crowdsource Choir to sing ‘A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood’ with all of us! Yes, that song from Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood.

“Eva recently collaborated with two local favorite musicians, Julia Massey (who will be joining the Crowdsourced Choir fun) and Alaia D’Alessandro, to record and release their take on the classic song. She will lead the choir (you and anyone else who shows up) in learning the arrangement and singing it together.

“Crowdsource Choir is a monthly drop-in choir in Seattle reinventing choir for the 21st century and recovering singing as an ancient communal art form that helps us participate in a magnificent whole.No singing experience required.

Black Santa at NAAM!

“A winter wonderland is coming to NAAM! Join us as we kick off our holiday programming with our annual Black Santa celebration. Families are welcome to join us for family fun throughout the museum with activities in our studios, interactive reading time in our library, pictures with Black santa in our Legacy Hall and food available from Stubbs BBQ & Catering. Pictures with santa are on a first come first serve basis with a single pose and printed photo available. December 7th & 8th, 2019 11-5 PM. 2. Holiday Bazaar at the Lakewood Seward Park Community Club

“The Annual Holiday Gift Bazaar is a great place to browse for interesting thing to buy from local vendors – many unique and hand crafted items. The bazaar will be open to the public from 10:00am – 3:00pm. Food and drink will be available to purchase.

The Lakewood Seward Park Neighborhood Association will also host its third-annual Blood Drive during the Bazaar. Please consider donating blood today before or after you check out the market!

Annual Holiday Sing-Along at Royal Room

“This fun and highly interactive event with SING NOEL is for all ages. Lyrics are projected on the big screen, as the choir leads you in traditional holiday favorites.

“We have some great new holiday music, but don’t worry, we will still have our full-audience, interactive, 12-part version of the Twelve Days of Christmas, and Elvis and Beach Boys will be back. This year we’ll feature some classic yuletide drinking songs, The Boar’s Head, the Gloucester Wassailing Carol, and of course, Auld Lang Syne.

“Our talented musicians: SING NOEL is an 8-part harmony group supported by a festive mix of instrumental support including piano, accordion, oboe, French horn, recorder, guitar, mandolin, ukulele, Irish drum, bells and coconuts.Family-friendly.
