After Governor Jay Inslee mandated closures of all King, Pierce, and Snohomish County schools (later extending the order statewide) for at least six weeks due to fears over the COVID-19 outbreak, both the Seattle and Renton School Districts announced they would offer free lunches to students during the shutdown.
Seattle Public School sites will start serving lunches to students beginning March 16, Monday through Friday, 11 a.m to 1pm.
The Renton School District, which operates schools in Skyway, will begin serving lunches to any child ages 1-18 in the front lot of each Renton School from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday-Friday. No signatures or ID is required.
RSD will also make lunches available at the following apartment complexes:
- Green Tree/Park Hill, 6900 S 125th St, Seattle
- Creston Point, 13445 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Seattle
- Royal Hills, 3000 Royal Hills Dr SE, Renton
- Stonebrook, 12210 SE Petrovitsky Rd, Renton
The lunches will be “grab and go”and are intended for students to pick up through car windows before going off sit to eat.

If serving outside building: Enter rear driveway from 39th Avenue, pick up food near center of building, exit on 42nd Avenue.
If serving inside building: Enter/Exit through the door facing Graham Street at the southeast corner of the building. Cafeteria will be immediately across the hall to the left after entering.
