  1. Did you know that there is a growing movement, started by Columbia City resident (Stella) and her mom (Lisa) to encourage the Woodland Park Zoo to send the elephants Chai and Bamboo to a sanctuary? They’ve spoken at the city council and written and open letter to the mail and have a petition with over 20,000 signatures on it. You can see their work here: http://www.childrenhelpingelephants.org/. Thought you might be interested as is involves local residents and concerns Seattle matters.

  2. I would love to repost the story on Aaron Dixon and the Black Panthers on a blog I help run called Love and Rage. I loved it! May I?

      1. Mr Editor. You put pictures of my grand children in your articles without my permission. Alesia Cannady may have given you permission, but I did not. Both their Parents are very upset. I am planning on seeking legal advice on this matter. You should have ask permission, they are minors.

  4. Thanks so much for the editorial encouraging readers to vote for the Housing Levy!

Especially nice for you to give a shout out to Mercy Housing Northwest’s (so-to-be-completed) project!

(One small note, we’re calling the building “Mercy Othello Plaza.” We have another—levy supported—project in Rainier Beach called “Emerald City Commons.”)

    Keep on!

  6. You guys really need to stop believing Terrell Jackson. We as a community need to support honest and loyal small business owners. This man and his whole family are cons. Do your own research and urge hard working citizens to NOT donate their hard earned money to this sham. Food may be good but they are not good people.

  7. Thank you for your coverage of the art exhibition in July 2016 of works by three members of the group Seattle Realist Artists at the Hillman City Collaboratory (article: https://southseattleemerald.com/2016/07/17/art-exhibit-returns-realism-to-hillman-city/#more-11172). One of your readers read the article, then visited the exhibition, then bought a painting. It’s wonderful to see South Seattle residents collecting work by local artists. Thanks again!
