When Ben Hunter and I arrived in Memphis, TN for the 32nd annual International Blues Challenge, we were one of 94 different acts set to compete in the Solo/Duo category. While we knew little about the Blues Foundation or the history of the Challenge, we were definitely proud to be there representing the Washington Blues Society. Folk Duo Brings Rainier Valley-Style Revival to The Neptune

Ben Hunter and Joe Seamons: Rainier Valley Revival at Neptune TheatreThe University District’s Neptune Theatre will be infused with the sounds of South Seattle, literally, as locally-based roots music duo Ben Hunter and Joe Seamons mount its stage tonight. The blues and folk music pair will join students from Washington Middle School in exploring the history of the Emerald City through the playing of songs written throughout its various stages. The two worked closely with the Rainier Valley Historical Society to unearth songs with direct connection to the Rainier Valley.
