At the tender age of 5, Dr. Debra Sullivan knew the education system was flawed. She vividly recalls receiving a stern reprimand from her teacher after reading an above-grade reading level book to her classmates.
“I don’t want you bringing books like this to school anymore,” the teacher said. “When you read that far ahead of the other children, you make them feel bad about themselves.”

Justice is an abstract concept implored in the name of fairness, impartiality, and equity. These are often used interchangeably, but maintain subtle distinctions. Fairness can be understood as treatment without favor or discrimination. Impartiality can be understood as neutrality and objectiveness. Equity can be conceptualized as the application of fairness and impartiality.

When a founder of a movement or entity leaves their original city, often times what they built dies. But not for Simon Wolf and his music and arts initiative, Stay Happy Collective.
