Natural Gas Watchdog Questions Waste Management’s Marketing Claims on Renewable Gas

Seattle residents and environmental activist groups are putting Waste Management’s (WM) new garbage truck slogans, which claim their trucks to be fully powered by renewable gas, to the test.

“You know the signs, ‘Breath Clean, Seattle: Powered By Renewable Natural Gas,’” said Pat Harris, a downtown resident speaking at the Seattle City Council’s Transportation and Public Utilities Committee last month. “The suggestion that Seattle residents are breathing clean around Waste Management on methane gas-powered vehicles isn’t accurate.”

yəhaw̓ Indigenous Creatives Collective’s 1.5 Acres of Land to Offer Inclusive Art Curation and Ecological Education

Founded in 2017, Seattle-based yəhaw̓ Indigenous Creatives Collective launched their inaugural event two years later, in collaboration with the City of Seattle’s Office of Arts and Culture. Featuring over 200 Indigenous creatives representing over 100 tribal affiliations and Indigenous communities from across the globe, the exhibition included on-site events at King Street Station and off-site through additional programming and publications.

King County Will Help Preserve and Activate 32 Green Space Projects in the South End

Several projects around the South End aimed at preserving and activating green spaces just got a major boost in funding. In January, King County awarded a combined $52 million to 32 projects across King County. It’s part of Executive Dow Constantine’s goal to save, preserve, and enhance the last 65,000 acres of urban canopy, forest, farmland, and green space around the county.
