Sunday Stew: The Narrow Path

by Gabriella Duncan

As I walked the winding path,
My breath was shallow
And anger was at times
My only friend…

As I walked the narrow path
I felt alone and tired
I felt misunderstood…

As I walked the narrow path
I craved deliverance from
Myself destruction…

As I walked the narrow path
Dreams evaded my eyes
And anger created emptiness

Then
I saw you there
Right beside me
And realized

The path had always been
Wide enough for two
And I had never been alone

As I walked the narrow path.
