Celebrating Beauty, Resilience, and Wisdom, Trans Pride Seattle Returns Sept. 2

Trans Pride Seattle returns in person after a two-year hiatus, celebrating and centering transgender, nonbinary, Two Spirit, and gender-diverse communities. The event is presented by Gender Justice League (GJL), an organization focused on “Elevating Human Rights for Trans & Gender Diverse People.” Trans Pride Seattle will take place at Volunteer Park Friday, Sept. 2, 5:30–9 p.m.

With Washington’s Drug Possession Law Gone, Lawmakers at Odds Over Next Steps

On Wednesday of last week, it was a felony in Washington to possess illegal drugs — even if you didn’t know you had them. A day later, it wasn’t. After a sweeping Washington Supreme Court ruling declared the state’s felony drug possession law unconstitutional, there’s currently no penalty on the books in Washington State for drug possession.

Undeterred by Threats, Trans Pride Will Spread Radical Joy

People will gather Friday for the seventh annual Trans Pride Seattle parade and celebration. Every year, thousands of trans, gender non-conforming, and queer people converge from throughout the Pacific Northwest to share joy, be in community with each other and take pride in being who they are.
