Celebrating Black Culture in the Central District: Loving Room and Made Space Team Up for Multidisciplinary Block Party Books Bites n’ Beats

Nestled near one another on 20th and Union, events venue Made Space and salon Loving Room opened during the pandemic and have quickly become generative, Black-centered, and creative safe spaces in the neighborhood. And from July 29 to 30, the two businesses are collaborating to throw Books Bites n’ Beats, a neighborhood block party celebrating the Black diaspora in the Central District with food, music, dance, films, and books.

C.A.M.P. Q Brings Queer Summer Camp to Seattle

Summer camp, with its newfound friendships and fun-filled activities, is not something that everyone had the luxury of enjoying in their youth. If the rise in temperatures makes you nostalgic for spontaneous play, check out C.A.M.P. Q: A Queer-Centered Summer Meet-Up Series from June 9 to Aug. 27. While June is full of larger one-off Pride events, C.A.M.P. Q is a place to foster Pride all summer long. So if chill connections are what you are after, come check out these events.
