“Join us for the workshop production of Tagalog sa King Street, a collection of one-act plays written and performed in Tagalog.

“With creative use of live English subtitles and shadow puppetry, non-Tagalog speaking audiences can enjoy the innovative, brave, new voices selected from the prestigious Virgin Labfest of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

“Presented by the creative team comprised of Lorna Velasco, Joyce Juan Manalo, Ai Lalo, Alyza DelPan-Monley, Arlo Magpoc, Nina De Torres Ignacio, Leah Mitts, Manny Golez, and Pia Rivera.” This event repeats on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. See event for individual performance details.

It will be a moderated conversation that includes the voices of performing artists, mental health professionals, spiritual and body workers, writers, authors and more from across the northwest. “Seattle is going to be extra funky this August as we bring the first Pacific Northwest all people of color burlesque festival to Queer/Bar Seattle and Columbia City Theater! August 22-24th! Three nights of the funk, the whole funk, and nothing but the funk!

“Night One takes place at Queer/Bar Seattle with our guest of honor and emcee the boss of burlesque, Foxy Tann from Minneapolis! Featuring the 12 burlesque performers from the Pacific Northwest tearing the roof off the mothersucka! Ticket link for night one is here. Nights Two and Three take place at the historic Columbia City Theater! Featuring over 12 performers each night including our headliners: Egypt Blaque Knyle (California), Tre da Marc (Minneapolis). “Edwin T. Pratt: A Living Legacy Artist Talk Presented by Northwest African American Museum and Pratt Fine Arts Center. The Edwin T. Pratt: A Living Legacy exhibit at NAAM is coming to a close on August 28th and we want to invite our community into a conversation between the artists of the exhibit. Tara Tamaribuchi, Jite Agbro, and Marilyn Montufar will be in discussion about how their art practices are informed by the work and legacy of Edwin T. Pratt. Nancy Rawles will open the conversation with a reading from her essay, Edwin T. Pratt: Excellence and Opportunity.”
